SMTA Student Chapters
for a Student Membership for $5.00USD!
The mission of SMTA Student Chapters is to create learning opportunities for networks of post secondary students to develop professional skills and the knowledge necessary to work in electronic assembly technologies and related business operations.
Seven students attended SMTA International in 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas to present technical papers or posters, and serve as Course Monitors for half day tutorials. Students receive a special reduced price on conference registration. The student participants took full advantage of their opportunities to learn from industry professionals in technical sessions and network with exhibitors on the show floor. A presentation at an internationally respected conference is a valuable addition to a student resume.
"It was really a fantastic experience for me as a student to have attended the 2011 SMTA International Conference and present research even though I'm still an undergraduate! The entire experience still feels a little surreal and inspired me to work harder to be able to enter the industry and make my mark."
